Nick León’s dystopian club music samples the sounds of Florida’s diverse ecosystems, but his style has varied fearlessly along the way. After making his start in the South Florida Soundcloud rap scene at a young age, Nick gravitated early towards the Latin sounds coming out of Puerto Rico and Colombia for his own.

Since this origin, Nick released his highly acclaimed Xtasis EP on TraTraTrax which featured DJ Babatr in 2022 and claimed production credits from genre defying artists like Rosalía, Tokischa and Oklou. His 2024 TraTraTrax released collaboration with Erika de Casier, Bikini has been heralded as one of, if not, the best tracks of the year from outlets such as Pitchfork, The Guardian, Crack and Resident Advisor.
Lamin Fofana’s sound worlds oscillate between resonance and dissonance, memory and metamorphosis – always unfolding as processes of melting, forging, and reshaping. His 2024 release Works in Metal breaks sounds apart, liquefies and recasts them, while text, poetry, and field recordings merge with synths to become voices of their own. Tracks such as Arc’s Blue Flame, Welding, and Obscure Light (Decomposition / Recomposition) negotiate these tensions, shaping a work that resists any single genre.
At its center lies Lure of the Fragment / So Another Sound Suggests Itself, a nested narrative of circling melodies that dissolve and condense again like molten metal. Critics have described Works in Metal as one of Fofana’s most compelling albums – a piece that translates Suzanne Césaire’s visionary writings into contemporary sound.
