The city of Fontane is renowned for its tradition, showmanship and community spirit.
From 31 October to 9 November 2025, the Fountain City of Neuruppin will be hosting its traditional Martinimarkt, one of the oldest annual markets in Brandenburg with a history spanning 369 years.
More than 100 showmen will transform the grounds into a brightly lit festival area adorned with over a million LED lights and around 25 kilometres of power cables, offering attractions for all ages. As well as classic attractions such as the Ferris wheel, bumper cars and the Break Dance, visitors can enjoy modern rides like the ‘King Kong Tower’ and the 40-metre-high ‘Fly Over’ chain flyer.
The market also offers a wide variety of culinary delights, including Hungarian langos, French crêpes, lard pastries and candy floss.
The Martinimarkt opens on Friday 31 October with a public showmen's service at 1 pm, followed by a ceremony led by Mayor Nico Ruhle. The traditional lantern and torchlight processions will take place at 5:30 p.m., before the colourful fairground festivities begin.
Special events and themed days such as Family Day, Ladies' Night, the Day for People with Disabilities, and the big fireworks display on 7 November will round off the ten-day programme.
This year, the town is dedicating the market to the memory of Lothar Welte, the long-standing spokesman for the showmen and a defining figure of the Neuruppin Martinimarkt.
Entry is free!
