Event Series
This season, the Musical Instrument Museum is combining two current research focuses at the SIM in a series: musical interpretation and musical performance spaces. The debates in both areas regularly converge, and in many cases, they are indispensable.
For as relevant as the function of spatiality is for central questions of interpretation, and as essential as the conditions of space are for the performance of music in general, insights into the concrete practice of musical performances and the nature of the music performed are equally crucial for questions of spatiality.
Short introductions to the respective topic, vivid demonstrations live or in another medium, and discussions with the audience are intended to complement each other in different ways.
In July, Heinz von Loesch will retire, providing an opportunity to celebrate this long-time colleague and the spiritus rector of interpretation research at the SIM.
Short introductions to each topic, vivid demonstrations live or in another medium and discussions with the audience will complement each other in different ways.
Responsible and always present: Heinz von Loesch, Jo Wilhelm Siebert, Olga Sutkowska and Rebecca Wolf.
On four of the above dates, there will be an opportunity to take part in a tour of the SIM's acoustic rooms at 4.45 pm. Contribution towards expenses € 3.
