On October 11, 2025, Steinmetzstraße in Berlin will be transformed into a vibrant oriental bazaar with music, dance, and culinary specialties.

At the initiative of the district council, the Tempelhof-Schöneberg district office is organizing a diverse music and street festival commemorating the cultural history surrounding the nearby Bülowstraße subway station.

An important meeting place emerged there in the late 1970s: A Turkish bazaar with an integrated music club called "Gazino" was established on the disused tracks of the former station. For years, it was a popular meeting place for Berliners of Turkish descent, especially for many of the so-called guest workers. With the resumption of subway service in the 1990s, the bazaar and gazino had to make way – but with the street festival, their legacy is revived for one day.

A diverse musical program awaits visitors on the main stage – from folklore to hip hop, from belly dancing to classical music.

The bazaar offers handcrafted, traditional, and oriental goods: carpets, jewelry, leather goods, antiques, textiles, cassette tapes, as well as culinary delicacies such as nuts, olives, spices, food, and drinks – all in the style of traditional Turkish markets.

A festival that connects past, present, and future.
