Accordion meets north-eastern Brazilian rhythms
On Saturday, 28 February 2026, at 6 p.m., Bewegungsebene invites you to a special slipper concert in its Kultur-Winter-Saal in Alt-Kaulsdorf. Renowned German accordion virtuoso Tobias Morgenstern will join forces with international musicians to present a rousing mix of Brazilian sounds and his own romantic melodies.
The accordion plays a central role in the music of north-eastern Brazil, especially at traditional festivals such as Forró, where dances such as Baiáo, Xote and Maracatu take centre stage. Tobias Morgenstern combines these lively rhythms with virtuoso accordion passages, jazzy elements and song-like ballads and romances. The result is a unique soundscape that invites both listening and dancing.
Tobias Morgenstern is supported by an international band: Max Hughes from the USA on bass, Eudinho Soares from Brazil on guitar and Javier Reyes from Colombia on drums. Together they create an atmospheric and dynamic performance that reflects the cultural diversity and musical brilliance of north-eastern Brazil.
With its slipper concert format, Bewegungsebene focuses on an intimate and relaxed concert atmosphere. These popular events are enjoying increasing popularity – if you want to be there, you should register early and don't forget to bring your slippers.
