Permanent exhibition

On the historical cemeteries in front of the Hallesche Tor rest 28 baptized descendants of the Jewish philosopher Moses Mendelssohn. In 26 biographical and 24 thematic photo-text panels, the exhibition presents over 300 illustrations - including numerous reproductions of previously unseen documents and portraits - of this widely ramified family, which includes well-known artists, scholars and bankers. Only a few meters away is the grave of honor of Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy and Fanny Hensel.
