Matters of Taste. What is beautiful? What is ugly? What is art and what is not? How does art create an aesthetic experience? The fourth Discourse Salon is curated by Filipino artist and scholar meLê yamomo, who transforms the coffee house and action space of the Museum für Kommunikation Berlin into a social art space.

Visual "Matters of Taste"
The result is an open mix of sound lab, social kitchen and discussion space. At various stations, visitors will experience food and taste performances by Indonesian artist Ariel William Orah.
Acoustic experiences are promised by the experimental live music of the Bangkok-born composer and musician Mo'ong Santoso Pribadi, who grew up in Java and plays self-made trash instruments. These interventions are interwoven and embedded in a political discussion around the delicate question of art taste.
For who decides what art is? Is it artists or institutions - or is it the audience? Together we will discuss these controversial questions with art historian Eva Bentcheva and artist Zoncy Heavenly. The discussion will be moderated by curator and art activist Promona Sengupta.
