KIOSK FOR A MAGIC FUTURE: Talk
Capitalist globalization that once promised to raise all to prosperity, is now in tatters, against a backdrop of climate collapse with each tipping point that we fail to meet. However, few seem to be bothered about it. We rather wage wars risking nuclear Armageddon. It is obvious: a transformation is necessary. And yet, belief in change is dim – except in the case of art. Not only does it believe in change, it wants to be part of it. But how?

VISUAL Magic Podcast: The Cat and the Tiger
This talk will critically discuss the phenomenon of professionalization in the practices of socially engaged art. It will focus on its »waste product«, the figure of the amateur. Can it deliver the promise of change? Possibly – but only if it is brought about by a gentle walk of the domestic cat, not by a leap of the tiger.
