On the history of fur in fashion (19th to 21st century). Claudia Gottfried, Ratingen
The splendor and beauty of fur have always fascinated people and awakened their desires. For this reason, animals were hunted, killed, and exterminated all over the world; their skins became lucrative commodities for clothing and fashion.
They fulfilled women's and men's desire for luxury and distinction, served eroticism, and promised good business for an entire industry. And this continues to this day. Because animal materials are back in fashion. This lecture traces the eventful history of fur consumption over the last 200 years.
