Master of Musical Storytelling
Lord Huron are true experts in combining music with storytelling and have released several albums that tell the adventures of imaginary characters in an interconnected universe.
Lord Huron will return to the stage in autumn 2025 - with a stop in Berlin. The extraordinary project was launched by Ben Schneider, who grew up in Michigan and often visited Lake Huron as a child - a source of inspiration that still resonates in the band's name and music today. After studying art and spending time in France and New York, Schneider moved to Los Angeles in 2005 to work as an artist.
During a holiday at home in 2010, he recorded three songs that were later released as his debut EP Into the Sun. Mighty followed shortly thereafter, and Lord Huron became increasingly well-known in the modern folk-rock scene. In order to be able to perform live, Schneider put together a band - with his childhood friends Mark Barry (percussion), Miguel Briseño (bass) and Tom Renaud (guitar). They had already made music together when they were 12 years old - a bond that can still be felt today.
With their debut album Lonesome Dreams (2012), they invited their fans even deeper into their interwoven story universe: Inspired by a fictional author, their songs are based on imaginary literary works. The music combines country, western and folk elements and creates a distinctive, nostalgic atmosphere. Strange Trails followed in 2015, from which the single The Night We Met became a worldwide hit - not least thanks to its use in the Netflix series 13 Reasons Why. The song is now one of the 40 most streamed titles of all time.
With Vide Noir (2018), they continued their success and reached the top 5 of the US album charts. Long Lost was released in 2021, which musically and narratively links new and old characters and further expands the universe of Lord Huron.
In addition to their studio albums, they have long since established themselves as an outstanding live band. Whether at major festivals such as Coachella, Lollapalooza or the Newport Folk Festival – their concerts are immersive experiences that perfectly showcase their captivating music.
