An exhibition by the AlteStromer painting group | Painting
The AlteStromer painting group consists of eight dedicated artists who have been meeting regularly for many years to work on art together and exchange ideas.
The group emerged from a circle of former energy industry employees who maintain their long-standing bonds through an active community life featuring diverse events and special interest groups. Since its founding in 2008, the painting group has continuously evolved and now operates independently, supplemented by occasional workshops with professional artists.
The exhibition focuses on landscapes, nature scenes, and still lifes that reflect the artists’ personal impressions and memories. Many of the works arise from direct experiences of nature—whether in the Berlin area, on the Baltic Sea, or while traveling—and capture moods that are perceived as “rays of hope” in everyday life.
The works are characterized by a wide variety of painting techniques. Watercolors captivate with their transparency and lightness, pastels with their intense, velvety color effect, while acrylic painting allows for both subtle gradations and powerful contrasts. These diverse forms of expression lend the exhibition a lively dynamism and open up varied approaches to the perception of light, color, and atmosphere.
“Rays of Hope” symbolizes moments of confidence, reflection, and joy. The exhibition invites visitors to discover their own personal rays of hope in the paintings.
For the exhibition opening, musician Maxim Shagaev takes us on a virtuoso and emotional journey with his keen sense of timbre and dramaturgy. Shagaev is one of the outstanding bayan virtuosos of his generation and captivates audiences with his technical brilliance and musical expressiveness. In his program, he blends classical tradition with tango, waltz, and modern soundscapes to create a thrilling concert experience.
