Three strange birds on the TD stage, an unfamiliar habitat for them. One could be a crow, maybe all three. This will be something to observe, and that's what it's all about: observation. Who are we when we observe birds?

Inspired by Donna Haraway and Vinciane Despret, the three actors go on the hunt with their binoculars. Observation inspires. Which bird calls can they distinguish, which plumages do they recognize? Fascinating, for example, are the starlings that overwinter in the Alexanderplatz S-Bahn station. As migratory birds, they have resigned and live off fast food. Some even imitate the S-Bahn signal.

The three Nazi granddaughters also examine the records of their grandfathers (the Konrad Lorenz generation). They were great experts on their local birdlife. Birdwatching is evidently political. It can be ethnic—but also feminist.

Trigger warning: This piece features almost exclusively original texts spoken by people who are about to birdwatch or who are discussing how they have birdwatched. No birds are present or heard. There are no VR headsets, and no one is naked. No references to classics are made.
