Discussion, guided tour on Neighborhood Day

How well do you know your neighborhood—and the stories behind it?

The Berlin Wall Memorial on Bernauer Strasse is a site of remembrance of international significance. But how does the immediate neighborhood view the site today? Which personal memories are still alive—and which previously undiscovered traces are waiting to be rediscovered?

All neighbors are invited to get to know this special place from a new perspective: During an exclusive guided tour with a curator from the foundation, you’ll first gain insights into the diverse stories surrounding life with the Wall in East and West Berlin from the memorial’s perspective, and then it’s your turn.

Afterward, everyone is invited to the new studio. In a relaxed atmosphere—inspired by Turkish tea culture—everyone will engage in conversation, get to know one another better as neighbors, and perhaps share a story or two about the area’s turbulent past.

Join us and rediscover your neighborhood together!
