Boundless through the sounds of the Levant

"Kayan" means "existence" in Arabic. The Kayan Project brings together Berlin-based musicians with roots in Israel-Palestine, Syria, and Poland to form an extraordinary ensemble centered around singer and songwriter Eden Cami.

Her music combines folk music from the Levant with elements of jazz and two languages that rarely sound harmonious together: Arabic and Hebrew.
Traditions, improvisations, and her own compositions create an emotional sonic journey that transcends musical and cultural boundaries. In a time when divisions often take center stage, KAYAN focuses on what unites – a courageous, hopeful gesture that touches.

Eden Cami (vocals), Or Rozenfeld (double bass), Borys Słowikowski (percussion), George Birkett (acoustic guitar), Danielle Friedman (piano).
