In his artistic practice, Julius von Bismarck (*1983) deals with the location of man in his environment and with what is socially negotiated as nature.
Again and again, he uses deconstruction to question how we as a society evaluate nature in the form of landscape and who holds the interpretive sovereignty in this evaluation process.
For his exhibition at the Berlinische Galerie, von Bismarck chooses a biographical approach for the first time and also deals with his family history. In doing so, the reciprocal relationships between the understanding of nature and historiography move to the center of his works.
The Berlinische Galerie is actively promoting the process
towards an accessible and inclusive museum. It offers an inclusive education
programme and is certified by "Reisen für Alle" ("Tourism for
All”). Here you can find more information: https://berlinischegalerie.de/en/visit/accessible-museum/#c4726
