Joanne Robertson + Pillbert

She moved to Glasgow in 2018, after having lived in London. Her painting and music both form improvisatory moments of expression. Blue Car is a collection of songs from her archive of unreleased solo recordings, similar to Painting Stupid Girls, these tracks attempt to record the moment, and where she was at emotionally that day, similar to diary entries. The dates she wrote these songs is unknown, they span roughly a ten year period. Upcoming solo record Blurrr is to be released in 2025.  


Pillbert is the project of Munich-born artist Lilian Mikorey – a singer, songwriter, multi instrumentalist and producer with roots in musical theatre and a degree in Popular Music from Goldsmiths, University of London. Under the name Pillbert, she establishes a dreamlike world where fabled beasts and secret colours roam the ever-shifting soundscapes, all encapsulated by her gentle vocals and quiet emotional clarity. Influenced by outsider music, ambient sound layers, and alternative pop, she embraces DIY production methods and frequently incorporates field recordings to further her tender sonic world-building. Pillbert's debut EP Fish on Land is to be released on Squama in August.
