Fundamental Interactions is a collaborative project by musician and performer Jelena Kuljić that brings together poets from the former Yugoslavia with an international ensemble of musicians. In addition to her own texts, Kuljić draws on poems by Marko Pogačar and Olja Savičević Ivančević (Croatia), Selma Asotić and Jasna Šamić (Bosnia and Herzegovina), and Dragana Mladenović (Serbia).
The focus is on the themes that connect people:
Home, language, identity – and their tensions. Together with Olga Reznichenko, Christian Lillinger, Kalle Kalima, and Tim Dahl, a project is created that transcends geographical and musical boundaries. Improvisation, electronic soundscapes, jazz, progressive rock, avant-garde, and poetry merge into an intense artistic experience.
The album was released on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the end of the war in Bosnia.
