The Jako Quartet is the new project of Berlin-based Greek guitarist Iakovos "Jako" Symeonidis. The band performs original compositions by Symeonidis and pieces from his debut album, "Safe Place," along with songs from the jazz tradition and funk and soul arrangements. The band will record a new album in May 2025.
The band's goal is to inspire audiences by combining swing, Afro, and funk grooves. The band's goal is to inspire a new audience for jazz music and share the enthusiasm for improvisation, spontaneity, and freedom of jazz.
