Hansel and Gretel is perhaps the most famous fairy tale in Europe. The songs “Suse dear Suse was rustling in the straw” and “Brother, come dance with me” are at least as well known. Perhaps less known is the fact that they were composed by Engelbert Humperdinck. With this opera he created one of the most beautiful and popular operas for children.
