Walls of Shame is a constantly growing and powerful installation made up of letters. With the support of EWA e.V. – Women’s Center, the initiator and curator of Walls of Shame has used social media/Instagram (@walls_of_shame___) to call on survivors of sexual violence to anonymously send the names of their perpetrators in a sealed envelope to Walls of Shame or to write a letter on-site.
Since the project began in early March, over 600 envelopes have been pinned to the walls from bottom to top with pins, forming a “wall”: an increasingly expansive memorial that calls for taking responsibility for the immense sexual violence and its consequences in our society.
