Here, for one day, people display what they have created with their own hands from natural materials such as wood, glass, fabric, metal or paper – with patience, feeling and the belief that special things should be allowed to endure.


Family & Friends e. V. – the organiser of special art and wine markets in Berlin – invites you to its fourth arts and crafts Advent market.


Anyone strolling through the Advent market on the first Sunday of Advent will hear the clinking of glasses, the rustling of fabrics and the quiet voices of people striking up conversations. With the artists, many of whom have been running their studios or workshops for decades – some in the heart of Berlin, others on the outskirts of Brandenburg. What they all have in common is a love for unique pieces, for the special, for the handmade. And the conviction that sustainability is not a trend, but something important.

Between the workbench and winter light

Around the church, a small village of harmoniously decorated market stalls emerges for a day – with subtle lighting, cheerful colours and inviting scents. Many here have known each other for decades from the city culture markets with their special flair. Others are new, bringing fresh ideas – and perhaps also bringing back the sense of wonder that comes with discovering handmade things.
