Concert

The conversation, the music, and the joy arise from the encounter. They come together for the first time at Ballhaus Naunynstraße.

The String Archestra and the singers Gonza & Bona Ngoumou, co-founders of the band 3Women. Here, strings meet kora, chamber music meets vocals, and everyone comes together in a unique sound. The musicians of this evening have been pursuing similar goals for years: to break down the boundaries that prevent us from perceiving, enjoying, connecting, and dissolving them.

The String Archestra was founded in 2016 by Dr. Dr. Daniele G. Daude to perform works by Black, Indigenous, and PoC composers. They were honored with the TONALi Award at the Elbphilharmonie in 2021 for this. Today, The String Archestra plays new songs by Gonza and Bona Ngoumou, arranged for strings.

Composers and singers Bona and Gonza Ngoumou see music as a medium for storytelling and for connecting:

"Our music tells of lived experiences. In a world full of boundaries, we want to create sonorous and real encounters."

3Women have already participated in two major festivals at Ballhaus Naunynstraße – the International Performance Festival Permanente Beunruhigung (2017) and the Black Berlin Black – United Polyphonic Festival (2024) – and found enthusiastic audiences. Now, for the seventh edition of Black Berlin Black Berlin under the motto "Festivity," Gonza and Bona Ngoumou are joining forces with The String Archestra.
