"There is a time for everything. The era of William Shakespeare’s sonnets began well over four hundred years ago, and there is no telling when it might come to an end.

At times it seems as though everything of importance that could be said about love, death, human passion, and fallibility was already expressed back then. And as though everything that followed could be nothing but repetition. Precisely for this reason, every generation of poets has approached these verses anew.

Now it is Frank Viehweg’s turn. He has retrospectively titled the numbered works, and he sings them in his own compositions.” (Henry-Martin Klemt)

The program features a selection from the 3 x 24 Sonnets after W. Shakespeare, published in 2011.
