Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist with solo project
On "The Honora Tour," Flea will perform at Heimathafen in Berlin on May 21, 2026, where the musician will present his solo project live for the first time. Flea will be supported by the magnificent Honora Band, consisting of saxophonist Josh Johnson, guitarist Jeff Parker (Tortoise), percussionist Mauro Refosco (Atoms For Peace), Rickey Washington (alto flute), Deantoni Parks (drums), Anna Butterss (double bass), Vikram Devasthali (trombone), and Chris Warren (vocals).
Michael Peter Balzary, aka Flea, is one of the most influential and accomplished bassists of his generation. As a founding member and bassist of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, his bass sound has shaped modern funk-rock like few others. He has also played with artists and bands such as Johnny Cash, The Mars Volta, Tom Waits, Nirvana, and many more, and has been part of several supergroups.
Since the 1980s, Flea has also pursued an acting career, appearing in films such as "Back to the Future" Part II and Part III, "The Big Lebowski," "Baby Driver," and many others. Since 2025, he has dedicated himself to his solo project and released his debut single, "A Plea," which hinted at the release of his debut solo album, expected in 2026. On the track, Flea explores his jazz roots, showcasing his skills on trumpet, bass, and vocals with experimental rhythms for eight minutes. Equally expressive is the accompanying music video, in which he himself acts, dances, and choreographs.
