Excursion to the “Old Egg House”

Once one of Berlin's most popular excursion destinations, the Alte Eierhäuschen in Plänterwald is now coming back to life after a long slumber. Together with the Ei-12437-B restaurant, the KULTURspreePARK e.V. association, which celebrated its tenth anniversary in 2024, is launching a new series of events in October 2025.


On the first Sunday of every month, the Alte Eierhäuschen will become a lively meeting place for culture, encounters and authentic Berlin lifestyle. In the afternoon, lively old Berlin songs invite you to sing along – in the tradition of Claire Waldoff and other icons of the 1920s. A musical coffee klatch with heart, humour and Berlin snark.


In the early evening, there will be readings and stories full of wit, depth and emotion. In between, there will be time for a walk along the Spree, nature experiences in the Plänterwald or a visit to the exhibition curated by Art Space.


The result is a day full of music, literature, art and coffee house atmosphere – a feast for body and soul. The series is deliberately designed to be intergenerational, building on the association's many years of work in Spreepark and at the same time opening a new chapter in Berlin's urban culture – alongside inclusive projects and encounters that bring people together.

12:00 noon – Family theatre: The Frog Prince

3:00 p.m. – Coffee klatch at the coffee table

6:00 p.m. – Reading: Life and Resistance by Lisa Fittko

With original autobiographical texts and documentary fragments, the participants aim to bring Fittko's courage and determination to life – as a reminder, a warning and an inspiration in the face of the growing global shift to the right.
