Exhibition in the Sternfoyer: Unwanted Images: Images of Yugoslavian partisans
Six months before the European elections, they are holding a major consultation on the burning questions of the present: How do they prevent the rise of fascist forces in Europe? How do they strengthen social struggles for justice in Europe? How can Europe address its colonial past and become a driver of global solidarity in a polarizing world?
Because one thing is certain: in the coming years, everything will be at stake. If a radical change of course does not succeed, dark times loom. One thing is clear: the pressing problems of our time cannot be solved without the active and direct participation of the population. Trade unions and municipalities have long since recognized the signs of the times and are in favor of introducing citizens' or “transformation councils”.
Activists, social critics, politicians and everyone interested will have their say in the Society Council at the Volksbühne. You need the big advice about a Europe from below: lively debates at eye level and active networking. They want to listen, understand and make plans for a different Europe in a changed world.

Exhibition in the Sternfoyer: Unwanted Images: Images of Yugoslavian partisans
With almost 800,000 active fighters at the end of the Second World War, the Yugoslav partisan movement was one of the largest anti-fascist movements in the world. With the collapse of Yugoslavia in the 1990s, antifascism and socialism also found themselves on the defensive. The online image archive “Unwanted Images” attempts to secure the photographic memory and make it publicly usable. It also contributes to democratizing access to archive materials that are usually closed to critical and institutionally independent researchers.
