a mixtape by Carolin Millner / Elegance from Reflex

An evening about male friendship, anti-Semitism, devotion, women, toxic masculinity, the GDR and the old and new FRG. With lots of music, bitterness and cheerfulness.

The story of the friendship between the German working-class child, actor and singer Manfred Krug and the Jewish-Polish writer and screenwriter Jurek Becker, who survived the Shoah, is brought to the stage with elegance and reflex and used as a springboard to discuss issues of our time and to talk about social cohesion.

Manfred Krug, tired of change and overwhelmed, represents many this evening and is a possible guide on how to deal with a transformation that people feel at the mercy of.
