By Bertolt Brecht and Kurt Weill

"And the shark has teeth" has become a catchy tune. But probably the most popular German play of the twentieth century has much more to offer and seems more topical than ever.

We are in the red light district of the 1920s, in London's Soho district, where the competition of two "businessmen" determines what happens. On the one hand, Peachum, the head of the London beggar mafia, and on the other, the criminal Macheath, with good relations to the chief of police. Mackie Messer, the gangster with the white gloves, marries Polly, daughter of the beggar king. But he sees the foundation of his trade threatened by this connection. He's sending Mackie to the knife! But who is guilty of what? At the end the famous question: "What is a break-in into a bank against the establishment of a bank?

The ensemble presents a finely nuanced, ruthless and powerful stage play, in an unconventional and spirited "bittersweet" production. Very fresh and modern!
