Our brain is fascinating, complex—and always surprising: “What was I going to say? It was on the tip of my tongue!” Everyone knows what it's like to be scatterbrained from their own experience. But what exactly happens in the brain when this occurs?
These little lapses are one of the phenomena we are investigating together with three scientists—John-Dylan Haynes, Sebastian Markett, and Annika Rosenthal—from the Einstein Center for Neuroscience.
They answer the question of whether brain scanners can read thoughts and what the data obtained in this way tells us about our thinking, and we learn how addiction works and how knowledge from research can lead to new therapeutic methods.
Get to know the brain anew—with all its thoughts, mistakes, and solutions!
