VATO JORDANIA
Georgian-born, Vienna-based pianist Vato Jordania presents a program spanning two centuries of piano music: Joseph Haydn's Sonata in D major showcases the elegance and clear formal structure of Viennese Classicism.
Robert Schumann's Symphonic Etudes, Op. 13, reveal the romantic virtuosity of the 19th century: a work full of poetic moods, inner struggles, and brilliant variation techniques.
Claude Debussy's Suite Bergamasque leads us into a dream world of timbres and plays of light – impressionism in its most delicate and at the same time most sensual form.
The program concludes with Igor Stravinsky's Three Pieces from “Petrushka,” in which the piano becomes an orchestral sound machine: rhythmically bold, brilliant, and imbued with dance-like energy.
