Double Concert
Between 2008 and 2015, Dota Kehr and Uta Köbernick regularly toured extensively under the title "Inevitable Songs." Last summer, the format enjoyed a much-acclaimed revival in Berlin—and they are now picking up where they left off.
The result is a touching, insightful, and captivating evening featuring two of the most distinctive voices in the German-language singer-songwriter scene.
Dota Kehr initially released her music in the 2000s under the name "Die Kleingeldprinzessin" (The Small Change Princess) and recorded albums in Brazil in 2003 and 2007 with musicians such as Chico César and Danilo Guilherme. Since 2013, she has performed with her band under the name DOTA. The Berlin native released the album "Kaléko" in 2020, featuring musical settings of the works of Mascha Kaléko. This was followed in 2023 by "In der fernsten der Fernen" (In the Farthest of the Far), with which the band is currently touring major theaters and concert halls.
Uta Köbernick also grew up in Berlin—on the other side of the Wall—and now lives in Zurich. The trained actress and singer has been touring the German-speaking world with her solo programs since 2007, has released three albums, and published her book "Das Glück steht mir nicht im Weg" (Happiness Is Not in My Way) in 2022. About herself, she says: "I was born. In Berlin. I made the rest myself."
