Guided tour along the former Berlin Wall in Treptow
The longest section of the Berlin Wall, stretching 17 kilometers, ran along the border between the districts of Treptow, Kreuzberg, and Neukölln.
In the area around Bouché, Harzer, and Heidelberger Streets, the border even ran right through a residential neighborhood, separating entire communities from one another. Numerous dramatic escape attempts took place here, some of which ended tragically.
This guided tour is part of the 2026 Long Week of Neighborhood History under the theme “Street History(ies).”
Presented by the Berlin Regional Museums.
