Bahram Moradi's novel Das Gewicht der anderen (Wallstein Verlag) has been published in German, and we are delighted to invite you to the Berlin book launch. After the reading, we will round off the evening with a celebration.
About the book
Iran, June 1981: Two years after the Islamic Revolution, young Peyman Bamshad is arrested due to a case of mistaken identity. He spends his youth in various prisons. To escape the horrors of torture and executions, the young people there develop their own language and a bitter sense of humour. After his release, Peyman retreats to the basement of his parents' house. At the age of forty, he decides to free himself from the burden of his experiences and to discover a self that has had little opportunity to develop. In his search for himself, he guides us through the absurdity of the post-revolutionary years in Iran.- Reading in Farsi and German, the discussion will be in German
