Classic Open Air at Gendarmenmarkt

In the summer of 2025, the Gendarmenmarkt in the heart of Berlin will once again be transformed into an enchanting stage. From July 17th to 21st, the Classic Open Air Festival invites you to experience musical highlights in the midst of the impressive historical backdrop - an incomparable interplay of world-class music and romantic summer flair.

After a two-year break, the festival is celebrating its big comeback, opened by the renowned Konzerthausorchester Berlin under the direction of chief conductor Joana Mallwitz.

Also present: jazz legend Gregory Porter, who enchants with his warm soulful voice, and Giovanni Zarrella, who will take the audience into the world of Italian summer nights with a special Versione Classica.

The crowning finale is provided by world-class soprano Anna Netrebko and star tenor Yusif Eyvazov, who will provide an unforgettable evening with their masterful arias and duets.

The Classic Open Air, a permanent highlight in Berlin's cultural calendar for over three decades, returns on July 17, 2025 after a two-year break due to renovation work with two special premieres: The start of the renowned festival not only marks the revival of this cultural highlight, but also celebrates the reopening of the Gendarmenmarkt. After a sustainable renovation and modern redesign, the square shines as a first-class event venue in the heart of Berlin's historic center.
