Did you know that most of the famous Christmas songs from “White Christmas” to “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer” were written by Jews? Or that Theodor Herzl lit candles on the Christmas tree for his children.
This year, the eight-day Jewish Festival of Lights takes place during Advent and shortly before Christmas (December 8th - 15th) - and therefore you are invited to a glittering "Christmas Ukkah" special.
The program includes Hanukkah classics like “Maos Zur” and “Jewish” Christmas jingles like “Winter Wonderland,” but also jazzy evergreens by Jewish-American composers and lyricists like “The Man I Love.” There are also a few “Chrismukkah” stories and anecdotes about the evening’s songwriters such as Irvin Berlin, Felix Bernard and Jonny Marks – and mulled wine and Sufganiot at the bar.
