Vittore Carpaccio: Preparation of Christ for the tomb, around 1505

The colors of Carpaccio's "Preparation of the Tomb" shine in all their splendor after restoration. And yet, the subject matter is somber. The dead Christ lies parallel to the image in the foreground on a table, ready for anointing. His tomb is being prepared in the middle ground. But what role does Job play in the painting?
