New NABU permanent exhibition in the Schönhauser Allee Arcaden

On July 17, 2025, at 11 a.m., NABU Berlin will open a new permanent exhibition on caterpillars in the Schönhauser Allee Arcaden.

This marks the opening of last year's nationwide photo competition "Caterpillars in the Flash," which received a great response with over 160 impressive submissions. A total of 16 selected large-format photographs will be on display on the ground floor of the Arcaden, in the passageway to the customer elevators.

The competition, themed "Fascination with Butterflies," was aimed at amateur and professional photographers who wanted to capture the delicate beauty of native caterpillars. A jury selected the three best motifs. The final rankings were ultimately decided by NABU Berlin's Instagram community.

The exhibition features impressive macro photographs, complemented by information on the development of caterpillars, their importance in the ecosystem, and the protection of urban wild plants.

The exhibition is permanently accessible free of charge on the ground floor and is part of a joint initiative by NABU Berlin and the center management, with the aim of making urban nature more visible and promoting environmental awareness in the long term.
