The History of the Incandescent Light Bulb in Berlin

Join us for a tour of the former OSRAM/NARVA site at Osthafen. The tour focuses on the history of the incandescent light bulb.

The former "Bulb Town" illustrates how closely work and life were intertwined at the beginning of the 20th century. Alongside industrial growth, a new residential area emerged, complete with pubs, a church, a playground, and a school.

Today, the area between the river and the railroad tracks is known as Oberbaum City and Media Spree. During the tour, you’ll discover the traces that point to the history of the so-called Bulb Town.

This event is part of the Berlin Industrial Heritage Festival.

Additional information
