With and By Nora Amin

To mark International Women's Day, celebrated annually on March 8, Acker Stadt Palast invites you to join them on Thursday, March 12, not only to celebrate women's rights and achievements, but above all to examine what has been accomplished so far and, from a queer and intersectional perspective, to question what it means to be a woman.

With an interactive solo performance by choreographer and performer Nora Amin, the audience will delve into how capitalism, colonialism, and patriarchy influence the definition of femininity and often restrict a person's identity, sexuality, and behavior, rather than truly fostering freedom and choice.

With her cultural roots in Egypt, Nora reflects on how social class and economics influence the human value of women and girls, how the family can be the first place where fear and silence prevail, how sexual assault is a daily reality, how femicides persist while the law and civil society remain silent in the face of multiple visible and invisible forces, and how sexuality remains taboo.

Inspired by her acclaimed book, "Migrating the Feminine," this presentation explores the theme of "Femininity on the Move."
