A perfect start to the Baroque weekend – with one of the leading ensembles of early music: Les Arts Florissants has been delighting audiences with a fresh, dynamic style of music for over 45 years. The secret to their success? "No routine," says founder and director William Christie.

The program is dedicated to vocal and instrumental music by George Frideric Handel, who enchanted audiences with melodic beauty like few others. The main work of the evening is the pastoral cantata "Aminta e Fillide," in which a shepherd long and unsuccessfully woos the favor of a nymph – an ideal setting for touching arias and duets.
