by and with Maja Zećo and Roman Stolyar

After celebrated performances at Performing Berlin as part of the Berliner Festspiele, the Warm Festival Sarajevo, the Ruse Literature Festival, Sarajfest, and the Sta Ima Festival in Munich, the internationally acclaimed performance "Libera Me" returns to Berlin.

A work by Maja Zeco and Roman Stolyar – two artists shaped by different experiences of violence, displacement, and new beginnings.

Their encounter combines music, performance, and video art into an intense dialogue between body and sound, memory and present.

In a 55-minute audiovisual composition based on interviews with people from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ukraine, and Russia, the audience is confronted with haunting messages, images, sounds, repressed memories, dilemmas, fear, care – but also with hope, understanding, courage, and tenderness.

The focus is on the human being – not as a number, not as a nation, religion, or identity, but simply as human beings. And nothing is greater than that.
