Guided tour of buildings in the town center of the garden city of Frohnau

The buildings designed by Heinrich Straumer and Paul Poser define the character of Frohnau. More than a hundred country houses, villas, single-family homes, as well as housing developments, commercial buildings, and public structures were built in the garden city. The year 2026 marks the 150th anniversary of both architects’ births.

This guided tour, part of the anniversary year, focuses on their buildings—whether preserved, destroyed, or never realized—in the heart of the garden city. Particular attention will be given to buildings and plans for commercial, school, church, and functional structures, as the architects were by no means exclusively country house architects.

On June 21, 2026, at 1:00 p.m., the Citizens’ Association of the Frohnau Garden City and the Landowners’ Association invite you to join this tour.

Duration approx. 1 hour 45 minutes. The starting point is the green space on Ludolfingerplatz.
