Guided tour
Both the construction and the fall of the Berlin Wall are among the most significant events in world history, and they are inextricably linked to the history of the Treptow-Köpenick district. This is because the longest inner-city section of the Wall—stretching 17 kilometers—ran along Treptow’s district border with Neukölln and Kreuzberg. It cut through a vibrant residential area, dividing streets, severing transportation links, and suddenly separating neighbors, friends, and families from one another.
On Sunday, August 30, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., a guided walk along the former Berlin Wall in Treptow will take place to mark the 65th anniversary of the construction of the Berlin Wall (August 13, 1963).
The event is part of the “65 Years Since the Construction of the Berlin Wall” project organized by Kulturprojekte Berlin.
The tour is free of charge. No registration is required.
