French Magic – Between Elegance and the Abyss
On June 22, 2026, the 29th Lions Charity Gala will take place at the Konzerthaus am Gendarmenmarkt to benefit social projects for children and young people in Berlin and Brandenburg.

The event is held under the patronage of the Governing Mayor and will be hosted by Benjamin Stöve.
Under the motto “Magie Française – Between Elegance and the Abyss,” the State Youth Orchestra, conducted by Prof. Lancelot Fuhry, will perform works full of passion and esprit.
Love, longing, sorrow, joy, zest for life.
The French composers Francis Poulenc, Claude Debussy, Camille Saint-Saëns, and Hector Berlioz translate the full range of human emotions into music with rich nuance. Dancer-like, dreamy, passionate, poetic.
Let yourself be enchanted by impressionistic timbres as well as by a masterpiece of program music: Berlioz’s Symphonie fantastique.
