2026 Summer Concert by the Berlin Central Band

And in two world premieres, the musical memories of Sohui Jeong for “Sympathy for Lady Vengeance”, found in a two-month process, will be explored.

In “Engel: [404]” by Sean Schumann, the orchestra will venture into air sounds and irrational rhythms, among other things, and the brass players' seats will be surrounded by a group of mutes.

The program also includes compositions by Chick Corea, John Mackey, and Franz von Suppè, among others.

First they were friends – since 2002 they have also been an orchestra. A regular annual rhythm gives them orientation and stability: at the “Traditional Summer Concert” they play symphonic wind music in front of a large audience, for several years now in the Berlin Philharmonic Hall, most recently also in the rbb's Großer Sendesaal. When they take to the stage, they do so with a full line-up, some playing unusual instruments and accompanied by breathtaking soloists. As a rule, the venue is sold out.
