Silent movie concert - festival

The filmmusic to this Show is composed very
delicately by Stephan Graf v. Bothmer, with percussion, electric cello, voice
and piano. Even though the movies are abstract, this concert is a thrill.

Avantgarde movies are absolut art. They don’t tell a story but explore completely new ways of expression.

  • Un Chien andalou. This movie has made Dalí world-famous in a strocke! It is the first surrealistic movie ever, like a dream - irrational, frightening and nebulous. [Luis Buñuel und Salvador Dalí, F 1928]
  • Ballet Mechanique is the first Dada movie. We see everyday things, but in a so unusual way, that it seems to be a ballet of chapes. [Fernand Léger, Dudley Murphy, F 1925]
  • Lichtspiel Opus 4 this movie ist completely abstract. [Walther Ruttmann, D 1925]
