German-German Resonances of a Political Composer

This two-part event series commemorates the life and work of this extraordinary artist and invites you to rediscover the political and cultural power of his music.

The Stasi Records Archive is participating in the series because Theodorakis's life story exemplifies how art and political stance clash in authoritarian systems—and what impact solidarity, freedom, and cultural exchange can have in times of surveillance.

In cooperation with the Center for Modern Greece (CeMoG) at the Free University of Berlin.

Admission is free.

Registration is not required. Guided tours are available prior to the event.

  • November 19 at 4:30 p.m.
