Berlin is getting festive for the last weekend of Advent. Whether you want to make the wait for Christmas a little sweeter, are still hunting for last-minute gifts, or simply feel like spending a cosy Advent weekend with your family, you’ll find the perfect spot among the city’s many Christmas markets.

Meet the Christmas elephant, feast your way through the Merry Markthalle, craft last-minute gifts, or soak up the Advent atmosphere with a touch of Berlin club vibes — here are 11 Christmas market tips for the fourth Advent weekend.

Tip 1: Meet Father Christmas on the Rudow Christmas Mile

Fairy lights, the smell of gingerbread and live music - the Rudow Christmas Mile is an atmospheric highlight in the south of Berlin. Over 50 stalls invite you to stroll, feast and browse on the fourth weekend in Advent: Look forward to handmade arts and crafts, delicious delicacies and hot mulled wine. On stage, dancers and musicians from the neighbourhood will get you in the mood for Christmas. For the little ones, there's a lovingly designed children's programme with a magic show, craft activities and, of course, a visit from Father Christmas.

Tip 6: Get inspired for Christmas dinner at the Merry Markthalle

Markthalle Neun is a real classic in the Berlin food scene. That's why the Merry Markthalle should not be missed here. On 22 December, it will be transformed into a Christmas gourmet paradise one last time. The international Christmas specialities, traditional treats such as gingerbread and roasted almonds and the organic wines will delight you. You will also find a large selection of handicrafts - perfect for gift-giving if you are still missing a Christmas present or two.

Good to know: The Merry Markthalle is committed to both sustainability and social responsibility. The products are often handmade and come from small manufacturers.

Tip 7: Bake stick bread again at the Christmas Wedding Market

On the last Sunday of Advent, Leopoldplatz in Wedding will be transformed into a festive neighbourhood Christmas market for the last time this season. Local designers and craftspeople present ceramics, paintings, spirits, spices and much more at around 100 stalls.

The market is accompanied by live Christmas music, street food and warm mulled wine. When it gets dark, you can warm up by the fire bowls and even bake bread on a stick. In addition, the trees around Leopoldplatz, dressed in fairy lights, glow in a magically warm light.

Tip 8: Travel back to the Middle Ages at the Christmas market on the RAW site

Come in, noble ladies and valiant warriors! At the Historical Christmas Market on the RAW grounds, you can immerse yourself once again in afestive medieval world full of jugglers, fire bowls, hand-operated carousels and hot mead on the fourth weekend in Advent.

Handicrafts as in knightly times, hearty food from open fires, axe throwing, archery and a lovely children's programme make this market an unforgettable experience for the whole family.

Spandau's Christmas market is one of Berlin's most atmospheric classics - and for good reason. Amidst half-timbered houses, twinkling lights and a nostalgic Ferris wheel, the entire historic centre of Spandau is transformed into a festive winter wonderland.

Over 100 stalls, a magnificent Christmas pyramid, culinary highlights from mulled beer to roasted almonds and a varied stage programme make this market an experience for the whole family. Children can look forward to carousels and living nativity figures. Adults can enjoy curling and handicrafts from all over the world.

Christmas time is family time - and it's especially magical at the "Sinneszauber" event at FEZ Berlin! On the fourth weekend of Advent, the FEZ is once again transformed into a lovingly designed winter wonderland where children aged two to twelve can get creative: crafting, baking, face painting, playing and writing wish lists - participation is expressly encouraged here.

Instead of commerce, the focus is on shared experiences, with sustainable materials, an atmospheric stage programme and a lot of heart. Perfect for relaxed family afternoons full of fantasy, twinkling lights and children's laughter.

Between food trucks, twinkling lights and live music, you can spend the last weekend of Advent relaxing at the Christmas market on Europaplatz. The Europa City Vibes Christmas market invites you to browse, relax, enjoy and simply feel good.

While children take a spin on the free carousel, adults can enjoy a massage in the Soulbus . Look forward to Christmas short films, live music, workshops and a really cosy atmosphere under the festively lit marquee roof. The highlight of the last open day is the musical lunch with Jeffi Lou from 12 noon to 2 pm. It stays festive until at least 8.30 pm
