In summer, Spandau's crystal-clear lakes invite you to take a dip, while the old, tree-lined parks of the old manor houses are perfect for romantic walks and coffee and cake.
But there is plenty to discover in Berlin's westernmost district at any time of year: whether it's the Renaissance fortress Zitadelle Berlin with its various historical exhibitions, or Spandau's old town with the Kolk and remains of the 14th-century city wall, whether it's UNESCO World Heritage sites such as the large housing estate Siemensstadt or, hidden in the countryside, the old Fort Hahneberg, now a filming location for Hollywood movies.
