Culture for all

Spandau Citadel is open to everyone. Free culture for all: Admission is free on (almost) every first Sunday of the month.

You can explore the entire grounds of the citadel, including the Juliusturm, the permanent and special exhibitions, and the ZAK Center for Contemporary Art in the Old Barracks.

At 2:00 p.m., both an English-language tour and a dramatized tour (in medieval costume) in German are offered (€4.50 per person).

After Museum Sunday fell victim to budget cuts by the Berlin Senate, the Spandau Cultural Office, led by District Councilor Dr. Carola Brückner, decided to continue to offer free admission to the Citadel on the first Sunday of every month.

With “Citadel Sunday,” the Spandau Citadel aims to inspire even more people to explore the diverse offerings on this cultural island and, in addition to free admission, offers a varied program, such as Family Sunday.

Everyone is warmly invited to go on a discovery tour with their friends and families—all are welcome.
